The Bishop’s Parlour is a traditional mid-sized space that features high ceilings, formal curtains, and a fireplace. The Parlour’s grand foyer features extensive leadlight windows, heritage terrazzo floor tiling, and a mahogany fireplace.
Located next to the original formal entry doorway into the Convent building, the Bishop’s Parlour was where the Mother Superior received her VIP guests and the women who were entering the Order. The foyer leading to the Bishop’s Parlour features the most ornate and decorative terrazzo floor within the Abbotsford Convent precinct.
We recently had the privilege of working with heritage tiler, Michael Hathaway on the Bishop’s Parlour Foyer restoration works. Learn more here.
The Bishops Parlour Foyer project has been supported through philanthropic grants from the Copland Foundation and the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation through the Eldon & Anne Foote Trust, alongside an in-kind partnership with FDC Construction & Fitout.
The space is WIFI-enabled. Additional facilities including tables, chairs, whiteboards, heaters and fans are available to hirers. Basic AV equipment is available to hirers.
