Cork Oak Path

On Friday 26 April, the Cork Oak Path at the bottom of the Heritage Gardens was officially reopened.

Connecting the Convent with the Yarra Trail and Birrarung, this path was closed due to safety concerns at the start of 2020. Now, thanks to a community fundraising campaign, support from the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation and the Abbotsford Convent Foundation with low bono support from Williams Boag Architects, we have completed the restoration of this vital pathway. We hope to see you on a lunchtime river walk soon!

Buildings & Facilities.

Fire Systems and Doors

The final stages of our routine testing on fire doors will be completed on Wednesday 1 May. There will be no impact to individual studios, but may incur some noise in related areas throughout the day.

Further, our annual fire system test will take place on Tuesday 14 May. We will require access to tenancies across the site for the testing of emergency speakers and smoke detectors.

As always, if you expect any of the above to interrupt your practise, please reach out with a suitable time frame for us to attend.

Car Park Updates

The existing car park equipment will be replaced from Monday 20 May 2024. The new equipment will feature license plate technology and credit card only payment machines.

We anticipate that the car park will remain open during this period, however it is expected there will be changes on how to enter and exit the car park whilst these works are undertaken. We are currently working with our car park provider to finalise the schedule of works and we will provide more information once this is finalised.

As a result of the upgrade, there will be changes to the current car park pass system that we expect to take effect from the 1 June 2024. This will include changes to the current pricing structure. More information will be provided in the coming weeks.

Please contact John Di Natale should you have any queries.
