About the organisation

Abbotsford Convent is Australia’s largest multi-arts precinct. This nationally and internationally unique precinct is a much-loved Melbourne cultural and community hub, and a celebration of the nexus of heritage, arts, culture, community development, learning, wellbeing and social and cultural enterprise. Welcoming nearly one million visitors each year, the thriving and dynamic Convent precinct comprises 11 historic buildings, gallery, two cafes, two restaurants, a radio station, a school, and 6.8 hectares of expansive gardens and open spaces. In continually evaluating how to optimise the organisation, the CEO will reinforce the Convent as a Melbourne institution and vital community resource, and firmly establish it nationally as a must-visit tourist destination. This highly visible face of the Foundation in the community will nurture connections with governments, philanthropy, high-net-wealth individuals, corporations and the media to tap into and building a community of loyal and connected supporters to enable the ACF to support and present diverse contemporary arts programs and deliver on its visionary Master Plan. Critical to success will be fostering a positive, respectful and high-performing ‘one-team’ culture.
