Il Scuola industriale è una sede versatile e unica. La sua forma lunga e rettangolare permette a questa sede di dividersi in due spazi distinti che si collegano e si dividono all'occorrenza, con una serie di aperture lungo tutta la lunghezza dell'edificio. La Scuola Industriale presenta una ricca patina di età dovuta ai molteplici utilizzi nel corso del tempo.
Il Scuola industriale connects to the Lavanderia Magdalen via an internal door, allowing for seamless transition between spaces for large-scale events.
Designed by JB Denny and built in 1868, the Industrial School is the oldest surviving building within the Convent grounds. Originally a two-storey building comprising workrooms and dormitories, it is the oldest known privately built school of industry in Victoria. Girls here learnt literacy and trade skills (sewing, mattress making, shoe making).
The foundations of the heavy-duty equipment it once housed can still be seen on the floor.
The space includes 3-phase power, single-track lighting and aceiling truss system spanning the length of the Southern zone.
Additional facilities including tables, chairs, whiteboards, heaters and fans are available to hirers. Basic AV equipment is available to hirers.
The Industrial School is wheelchair accessible, but flooring is mildly uneven in some areas.
Baby change facilities are available in the connecting Sacred Heart Courtyard.
