Live Cello Yoga at the Convent returns in 2024 after a sold-out series in 2023!

Explore the grounding and reflective effects of yoga in an entirely unique setting. Live Cello Yoga offers a unique opportunity to practice yoga, led by Michelle Li, accompanied by live music by cellist and soundscape designer, Conrad Hamill.

Take this opportunity to hit pause on life’s busyness and immerse yourself in a blissful fusion of live cello melodies and the restorative practice of yoga.

Each 90-minute journey begins with grounding breathwork, leading into a gentle vinyasa-style flow that eases tension and invites deep relaxation into your nervous system. The live cello music, crafted uniquely for meditation, will serenade you, gradually softening your body and mind until you are fully present in the moment. Every note becomes a guide, syncing with your breath, inviting a profound reconnection to the self.

Classes will take place on a Sunday evening of each month.

关于

Conrad Hamill

Conrad Hamill is an experienced Australian cellist and soundscape artist dedicated to using music to connect people to self, community and nature. He performs cello yoga at studios and venues across Byron Bay, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. Throughout the class, he uses his electric and acoustic cellos along with stage piano and effects pedals to build layered soundscapes that aim to enhance the physical and spiritual practice of yoga. Cello yoga has been featured at TEDx, on The Project and in the Age and Sydney Morning Herald.

Michelle Li

Having practiced yoga for over a decade, a series of synchronicities lead Michelle Li to her first yoga teacher training at the Byron Yoga Centre in 2019. This leap of faith transformed and continues to deepen her love and reverence for this practice. In 2021, Michelle left her job in Sydney to dive heart-first into psychology training and teaching yoga. It is her hope to share with others her lived experience of reflection and reconnection, made possible through yoga’s tools of breath, movement, and self-enquiry. Michelle continues to regularly practice and teach across Sydney and Melbourne.
