Florence Wang is a visual artist, having completed a PhD degree in Computer Science across Visual Art from University of Sydney in 2014.
Florence’s practice in visualisation has focused on creating effective and aesthetically engaging visual narratives, representations and user experiences based on research across multiple disciplines in art, science and technology. Her past experience includes creating 2D and 3D digital visualisations using immersive technology such as virtual reality and augmented reality for a variety of contexts.
Florence’s practice in painting is the physical and cultural extension of her digital work which explores symbolic and narrative aspects of subject matters and using them for storytelling. She primarily paints in oil, acrylic and watercolour. She takes an interest broadly in portraiture, still life, and landscape that represent or is part of everyday experience.
