In the Clouds – Brittany Shemmeld

Brittany Shemmeld is a graduate of RMIT University with a Diploma of Textile Design and Development and a Cert III in Graphic Design.

Shemmeld’s main passion is print work and repetitive patterning—reflected in her portfolio of hand-drawn, hand-painted, and digital patterns suitable for digital and screenprint. A further extension of her work is in homewares through hand-made pottery and ceramics. As a visual artist, Brittany Shemmeld has exhibited work at Raw Australia, Yarra Glen Art Show, and Warrandyte Art Gallery.

Brittany Shemmeld has worked with local screen print businesses in her career, assisting with design and print production and freelance commission design work. Her prints have sold in association with womenswear labels such as Violet Fish Fashion. Across various social media platforms and through her Etsy shop, Sherman continues to build a deep connection to the print and crafting community. Through her work, Brittany Shemmeld draws from her formative experience, liaising with creative businesses locally and internationally and her well-rounded knowledge of the industry.

Inspired by sustainable textiles and small Australian businesses within the industry, Brittany believes in supporting local artists and the work they represent.
