Roslyn Oades is an award-winning theatremaker and interdisciplinary artist. Best known for her pioneering work in the field of headphone-verbatim and audio-driven performance projects, her work has been commissioned by RISING Festival, Utp, Malthouse, Sydney Festival, Belvoir, Windmill Theatre, Vitalstatistix, Hot House and Festival 18.

In 2022, The Nightline, her epic interactive audio-theatre work for 50 rotary-dial telephones (co-created with Bob Scott) was presented at Sydney Festival and Adelaide Festival.

Her original works for the stage include Hello Goodbye & Happy Birthday, I’m Your Man, Creation Creation, In a Deep Dark Forest, Cutaway–A Portrait, At the Hip, Stories of Love & Hate and Fast Cars & Tractor Engines.

Her site-works include Cell 26, an audio work for a prison cell and Sea Stories, an audio work.

Roslyn’s productions have toured widely and I’m Your Man was adapted into an online interactive documentary by SBS. Hello Goodbye & Happy Birthday received the 2014 Green Room Award for outstanding writing for the Australian Stage and was shortlisted for the NSW Premiere’s Literary Award. Her productions have also been nominated for two Helpmann Awards, and in 2019 Roslyn received the prestigious Green Room Award for Technical Achievement in theatre.

When not creating theatre, Roslyn enjoys working as a dramaturge, mentor and lecturer in the field of documentary performance. As a side-hustle, she can also be heard as a character voice actor on many of Australia’s best-loved animated TV series.
