Louise Marson is the inaugural recipient of the Maggie Maguire Residency for early career artists. Louise is commencing a research-based, site-specific project that explores the rich, complex and intertwined heritages of people and nature.
Louise practices as both an artist and a curator. Her practice draws on earth-based materials, audio, video, glasswork, assemblage, archiving and human experience for indoor and outdoor exhibition with the intention to merge historical narratives with contemporary artistic practices. While in Residence, Louise also aims to host workshops, guided walks and screening in various contexts.
Louise has exhibited at Assembly Point, Yarra Sculpture Gallery, Studio Dax, Collingwood Yards, Papermill Gallery and Lot 19 Gallery. She is currently studying her Master of Arts (Art in Public Space) at RMIT. She has four publications to her name and is a proud advocate for inclusivity and accessibility within the wider community.
