Our biggest weekend of the year, Open Spaces festival is a celebration of the Convent’s people, spaces and places.
Open Spaces Markets celebrates our local community of independent makers, designers, thinkers, publishers, and four-legged friends! Browse handmade and second-hand wares from some of Melbourne’s most exciting designers and creative thinkers.
Saturday 12 – 9pm and Sunday 12 – 6pm | Industrial School, Sacred Heart building
One of our flagship Open Spaces programs, Design Space returns to celebrate local makers, designers and culture. This much-loved event will present a curated selection of local, independent makers and designers in the atmospheric Industrial School.

Another Open Spaces favourite, Print Space returns with a curated selection of independent writers, thinkers and publishers alongside a selection of artists’ publications and print material by the team at c3 Contemporary Art Space. An exciting addition to Print Space this year is a pop-up from Dog Photog Studios, taking portraits of your four legged mates. Think dogs dressed as scouts, sailors and artists!

F*EMS (Females* for Equality Making Stuff) is a Melbourne-based collective for female-aligned & non-binary people, who self-publish a zine triannually full of beautiful writing & art made of contributions from all over the world. Come have a draw, collage & more, & learn how to make your own zine!'
3MBS RECORD FAIR
Saturday and Sunday, 12 – 6pm | Salon, Convent building
The highly popular 3MBS Record Fair is back! Check out an array of vinyls records, CDs, DVDs and sheet music. All fresh stock following the regular market in early November.
MELBOURNE BOOK MARKET
Saturday and Sunday, 12 – 6pm | Linen Room, Convent building
Browse a selection of unique titles including literature, history, gardening, travel, art and kids books selected by some of Melbourne's most experienced book dealers as well as authors and illustrators. The Melbourne Book Market, held monthly at the Convent, is the perfect place to find something for book lovers.
