Roslyn Oades

    Theatre Maker

Roslyn is a theatre maker with a keen interest in speech patterns and audio-driven performance. She is well known for her pioneering work in headphone-verbatim theatre, a form she has been exploring since 2001. Roslyn’s latest work, 'Hello, Goodbye & Happy Birthday', was co-presented by Malthouse Theatre and Melbourne Festival in October 2014. In 2012, after 10 years in the making, she completed a trilogy of plays on acts of courage: 'I’m Your Man' (Belvoir/Sydney Festival), 'Stories of Love & Hate' (Urban Theatre Projects/Sydney Theatre Co) and 'Fast Cars & Tractor Engines' (UTP/BYDS). 'I’m Your Man' was nominated for two main-stage Sydney Theatre Awards (Best Direction and Best New Australian Work) and toured nationally with Mobile States and Belvoir in 2013.

Roslyn also moonlights as one of Australia’s best-known cartoon voices – including major character roles on the animated TV series 'Bananas in Pyjamas', 'Zigby', 'Dogstar', 'Toybox', 'ZuZu & the SuperNuffs', 'Sea Princesses', 'Bambaloo' and lead voice for the Logie Award-winning 'Tracey McBean'.
