Visual artist and conservator
Penny Byrne is an established visual artist and specialist cultural heritage conservator.
Since 2005 she has shown her artwork extensively both here in Australia and internationally, including in the Venice Bienalle exhibition Glasstress Gotika in 2015. Her work is held in many major cultural institutions in Australia, and by private collectors in Australia and internationally.
She has over 20 years experience as a conservator specialising in ceramics, glass and build heritage conservation. She has worked for major cultural institutions including The National Gallery of Victoria and Museum Victoria, and she undertook her internship at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
She is a Heritage Victoria registered consultant, and a member of the Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Materials.
