A collage extravaganza for making your own mythical creature using cut-outs of animals, people, plants, machines, objects, or anything that can be imagined!
Artist and choreographer Sarah Aiken will lead a gentle and exploratory workshop for kids and families looking at mythical creatures through collage and movement. Cut and paste to make fun Frankensteins of living and non-living things. Then shake it off with regular dance breaks inspired by the new bodies we’ve made.
A crafty kids’ orchestra workshop using paddle pop sticks, tape, and string to create custom instrument models.
Join artist, musician and producer Lauren Sheree at an inclusive, kid-focused event offering 15-20 minute crafting sessions of drop-in fun across the 2-hour workshop duration.
A safe dance space for all children to have fun, connect with their bodies, make friends, and enjoy the freedom of DANCE!
Ngioka’s Hip Hop dance workshop is high energy with a focus on learning hip-hop skills and building the confidence to dance freely. A drop-in, lo-fi dance workshop for kids. Please note, the format will be run in 15-20 minute repeated sessions followed by a short break across the 2-hour workshop duration.
Ngioka Bunda-Heath is Wakka Wakka, Ngugi from Queensland; and Birrpai from New South Wales. She graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts, as the first Aboriginal woman in dance.
A chance to make a magical version of you!
Learn and use make-up tips from the master of enigmatic disguise, Daniel Newell a.k.a Dandrogyny. Children and adults are invited to pair up and paint their partner’s superpower, alter-ego or magical self! Join this drop-in workshop to create the most wonderous versions of yourselves – using your faces to become and re-become – exploring how else we might choose to exist in the world.
During this workshop you will be invited to use water-based, non-toxic face/body paint. Please test on a small patch of skin prior to face application.
You are welcome to two relaxed sessions where touch, sound and texture are just as important as the art-making process. Relaxed sessions limit sensory overload through reduced capacity, dim lights and chill–out spaces – a stress-free environment for everyone to enjoy.
