This much-loved Deaf arts festival returns in September. This year, we celebrate experimentation, exploration, and the discovery of new art forms. Our purpose is simple yet powerful: to inspire, to connect, and to carry the creative energy far beyond the festival itself.

Flow Festival is Australia’s national celebration of Deaf arts and culture, occurring biennially, gathering artists and audiences from across Australia and beyond.

The Art of Sign Language and Creative Expression Workshop
Presented by Flow Festival Australia and Jamila & Amina Ouahid, this workshop will focus on the art of sign language, drama, and body language. You will be immersed in a colourful, visual, and beautiful atmosphere – filled with laughter, movement, and creative joy.

Smoking Ceremony
Join a traditional Smoking Ceremony led by Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Elders from the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation.
This ancient practice is a cleansing ritual that involves the burning of native plants to cleanse the space and people, promoting healing, connection, and the welcoming of guests to Wurundjeri Country.

Visual Dreaming Exhibition
An immersive journey that celebrates Narungga heritage and Deaf Aboriginal culture. Led by Joanna Agius, Visual Dreaming encourages empathy, cultural understanding, and allyship through visual animation, Auslan, Blak Auslan, and tactile elements.

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Exhibition
Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious is a collaboration between artist Jorlene Lim and the Rawcus Ensemble that explores the human impulse to create, and how every individual finds creative inspiration in their own way: One person is awe struck by nature, another technology, another an old photograph found in a op shop.

Catch the Light
