More than just a dance workshop. Ctrl + Alt + Create is a dynamic workshop series for dancers, movers, makers and aspiring choreographers aged 14-25. Over 2 full days, participants experiment with diverse approaches to choreography in an inspiring, collaborative and supportive environment. You’ll learn from some of Melbourne’s most sought after choreographic artists, meet other creative young people who share your passion, and gain confidence in sharing your ideas while developing your own unique creative voice.


Public Program

Join participants of CTRL + ALT + CREATE for an informal showing choreographic experiments and reflection of process. Young artists ages 14-25 have borrowed, layered and manipulated choreographic techniques shared by Lana Lana Šprajcer, Tomas Arroquero and Kimball Wong, and collaborated over 2.5hrs to share prepare these new creations.

Youth Dance Makers Initiative empowers young people with the tools and confidence to express their ideas and perspectives through movement and performance making. They strongly believe that young voices have ideas, skills and talent worth bringing to the fore. They strive to create a safe, inclusive and encouraging environment for young artists express themselves unapologetically, expand their creative and collaborative skills, connect with a diverse range of dance and interdisciplinary artists and broaden perceptions of dance as an artform. This event wraps with a public showing of experimental work.
