LUCE DUET invites you to an enchanting evening of musical immersion. Featuring a diverse range of cello chamber music, this concert promises to warm your winter evening with its soulful melodies.
Following a sell-out performance at Tempo Rubato earlier this year, they have joined forces with esteemed guest artists Sarah Cuming e Oscar Wionarski to present an intimate and captivating program.
Beginning with solo Bach and ending with a full cello quartet, you will experience a diverse programme of well known classics like Piazzolla and Bartok, to some underappreciated gems that are seldom heard in concert halls.
Circa
LUCE DUET
A collaborative project between cellists Charlotte Kube e Wendy Ju that aims to bring both beloved and under-appreciated classical music to new audiences. Luce, the Latin word for light, encapsulates the goal of the two cellists to shed light on the music they perform in a way that is both approachable and exciting.
Charlotte and Wendy have a long-standing passion for chamber music, particularly the multifaceted cello ensemble. During the completion of their Bachelor of Music (with Honours) together in 2022 at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, they often played together in a cello quartet (later extending to a cello septet). Throughout their musical journey, they reveled in exploring the captivating repertoire composed specifically for cello ensembles. It was this shared passion that ignited their decision to form LUCE DUET, a testament to their boundless enthusiasm for this captivating musical genre.
