Yoram Levy, ANAM’s Head of Brass and Trumpet, brings decades of global experience to this program. Joined by fellow trumpet Faculty David Elton they will lead brass and percussion in a wonderful program from the Baroque to current styles.
“Altenburg’s Concerto for 7 Trumpets and Timpani showcases the grandeur of its era, while the Chapel’s organ joins forces with brass for an unforgettable ensemble. ANAM’s trumpet faculty will shine in a classically inspired Concertino for two trumpets and brass ensemble. Adding an Australian touch, Maria Grenfell’s fanfare, commissioned by the SSO, and Paul Terracini’s fiery Gegenzätze bring modern flair to the program. The finale? An exhilarating arrangement of tangos by WASO’s principal trombonist, Josh Davis.” – Yoram Levy
