The Store Forecourt
The Abbotsford Convent offers a range of outdoor gardens, courtyards, and lawns available for hire. Each space has a distinct quality, with great potential to activate and explore. The Sacred Heart Courtyard offers a perfect canvas for lighting and projection, corporate events, or outdoor performances, whilst the natural amphitheatre of the Heritage Gardens lends itself beautifully to outdoor summer performances, markets, and festivals.
As with our indoor spaces, all the Convent’s outdoor areas have a particular history and past use. Some are sheltered and private, others open and public. All of them embrace both natural and built surrounds, offering serene, nature-based settings paired with spectacular architectural backdrops.
Power is available in several outdoor locations. Additional facilities including tables and chairs are available to hirers. Outdoor infrastructure, such as marquees, stages and umbrellas may be present during certain seasons. Private marquees are permitted. Basic AV equipment is available to hirers.

The Convent’s outdoor spaces are wheelchair accessible. Gender-neutral and accessible toilets are available at several locations within the Abbotsford Convent Precinct.
