“As a person with Autism I believe it’s important to share diverse stories, including those of people with disabilities. Often, these stories don’t get enough attention and I am excited that people will be able to see mine.”
Exhibiting in St Heliers Street Gallery this February, Miss Martha (Maya) will be exhibiting a range of works created in her time working with art therapist Robyn deVries in the Convent Building’s Studio d'art-thérapie de Melbourne.
Over the last few years, the works became Maya’s way of self-expression and acceptance when traditional education paths weren’t suitable, and have transformed into explorations of themes including ageism and societal expectations for women.
