As Platform Presents’ annual celebration of International Womxn’s Day approaches, You’re Invited to Our Dinner Party! Join them on this two-day celebration in collaboration with WIRE.
This event reimagines the timeless tradition of dinner parties, where women and non-binary individuals have historically gathered to share stories, strategise, and foster solidarity. Through art, music and dialogue, we honour these intimate settings as spaces of refuge, resilience, and growth.
SATURDAY: Opening Day — where you can expect 40+ individual artists, market stalls, hourly rotation of DJs, a panel talk hosted by WIRE, performances, food, bar and so much more.
SUNDAY: Low Sensory Gallery Day — Enjoy a quieter day to reflect and immerse yourself in the artwork at your own pace, without all the noise.
PLATFORM:
Platform Presents [Previously: Platform Exhibitions]
A collective of creatives dedicated to reshaping Naarm/Melbourne’s vibrant art scene. Platform host triannual pop-up exhibitions and immersive art parties that emphasise community, innovation, and diversity. Founded in 2019 by Jessica Dang, Platform was inspired by a vision to foster a circular society centred around art and music. Their mission is to elevate artists and unite people through unique, transformative experiences by inspiring a sense of curiosity and discovery. As they grow, Platform Presents is committed to continuing their journey of innovation; pushing the boundaries of what art and music experiences can be.
WIRE Org:
This year, Platform are proud to partner with WIRE Org to support their fundraising efforts. WIRE is a centre for gender and economic equity. They are proud intersectional feminists, committed to creating a fair society for all women and gender diverse people.
This exhibition contains artworks that may include nudity and explore themes such as domestic violence, sexual assault, reproductive rights, gender-based discrimination and other issues related to gender equity. Some content may be confronting or emotionally challenging.
We encourage attendees to engage with the works at their own pace and take breaks if needed. If you have any concerns or need support, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Platform team.
The Store is wheelchair friendly.
