In Butoh, it’s OK not to be able to stick to the beat, shuffle and sashay! Your breath is your dance, your hiccup is your dance—even changing the light bulb can become your dance.
In this workshop, we’ll take inspiration from one of the founders of Butoh, Kazuo Ohno, who started dancing in his 40s and continued dancing until the age of 101 (he passed away at 103).
Together we will challenge the notion of ‘real dance’ and have fun discovering and celebrating odd and unexpected moments of movement.
We particularly encourage seniors, elders, aunties, uncles, grandmas and grandpas to come along with your youngsters.
Workshop duration: 60 minutes
