School Holidays Pottery Workshop

Looking for something fun, creative and a little bit messy to do these school holidays? Come handbuild fun sculptures + cute vessels with clay at Big Bite Studios.

These School Holiday Pottery Workshops are relaxed, hands-on sessions where kids and grown-ups can shape, build and create their own ceramic pieces using simple handbuilding techniques. Each session focuses on a guided project, with plenty of room to experiment, play and make it your own. Projects rotate and may include clay creatures and monsters, pinch pots, snack plates and trinket dishes, tiny houses, mini worlds and more.

No experience needed, just come ready to get your hands dirty. Clay, tools and materials are included, along with bisque firing of your finished piece.

Big Bite workshops are open to all ages and abilities, with grown-ups very welcome (and encouraged) to join in. Big Bite aim to create a relaxed, inclusive space where everyone can participate and create in their own way.

About

Seo is a multidisciplinary artist and designer and the brains behind Big Bite Studios. She works across a variety of creative spaces including drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, textiles and more.

Having studied a Bachelor of Art with Honours at Curtin University, an Advanced Diploma in Fashion and Textile Design and a Diploma in Graphics and Spatial Design, she comes well trained in a multitude of skills that she loves to share with her students.

A big believer that everyone is born an artist, Seo gives space for ideas to flow and makes her students feel comfortable in the art of play, opening them up to the belief that they can indeed be creative.

Seo especially loves teaching kids, as they haven’t yet learnt what “not” being creative even is. They naturally make, play and explore without worrying too much about whether they’re doing it right.

Seo has previously taught textile design, printmaking, fashion illustration, fashion business, life drawing, sewing, pattern making and more. Above all, she wants her classes to be a space where kids feel free to play, experiment and discover what kind of artist they might be.
