National Ride2Work Day aims to raise awareness of the health and environmental benefits of cycling to work. Cycling is the most rewarding means of transport as it the cheapest, fastest and most satisfying. It is the only transport that allows you to get to work and stay active at the same time, whilst minimising your ecological footprint.

This year the Convent continue to support National Ride2Work Day in partnership with City of Yarra, with a delicious breakfast provided by the Convent’s onsite eateries, as well as free bike engravings and prizes.

Join the Cycling Celebration

National Ride2Work Day is Australia’s largest celebration of commuter riding. Held annually in October, the day celebrates the benefits of riding to work and brings together the communities that support it. The event aims to normalise the idea of riding to work. It encourages people who have never ridden to work before to give it a go, and it allows regular riders to stay motivated and encourage their work mates to get involved.

This is a great opportunity to be part of an important Australia-wide initiative encouraging bike riding as a safe, healthy and sustainable means of getting to work. Cruise along the scenic Yarra Bike Trail to the Convent, meet and chat with fellow riders and share a breakfast with our welcoming community before heading to work feeling well-nourished, happy and healthy! Visit the Yarra City Council website to find the best bike route.

No RSVP required, just cycle up on the day!

All commuters are encouraged to register for Ride2Work Day. Every registration builds the case for better bicycle facilities for our local area.
