Petals & Prints™ — Two-Day Gelli Printing & Collage Workshop with Leanne Daquino.
Spend two creative days learning to turn colour, pattern and hand-printed papers into your own unique floral artwork with Melbourne mixed-media artist Leanne Daquino.
In this relaxed, hands-on workshop, Leanne will guide you step by step through her signature Petals & Prints™ process.
On Day 1, you’ll discover the possibilities of Gelli printing, experimenting with colour, texture, pattern and layers to create a collection of beautiful hand-printed papers. You’ll also learn how to mix a harmonious colour palette from a limited selection of paints — giving you plenty of colours to work with without needing an enormous collection of art supplies.
On Day 2, all that experimenting comes together. You’ll learn how to select, tear, layer and arrange your papers to create your own finished floral collage artwork.
While everyone learns the same Petals & Prints™ method, no two finished pieces are ever alike. Your choice of colours, papers, flowers and composition means the artwork you take home will be completely your own.
This workshop is designed to be welcoming and achievable, whether you’re already creative or haven’t made art for years. You don’t need to arrive with an idea of what you’re going to make — Leanne will guide you through the process and encourage you to experiment, play and see where your creativity takes you.
Expect two days filled with colour, creativity, conversation and plenty of laughter, with a beautiful finished artwork to take home at the end.
No previous Gelli printing or collage experience required.
Leanne Daquino is a Melbourne-based mixed-media artist and educator known for her colourful, garden-inspired artworks created using Gelli printing, collage and layers of hand-printed papers. After a long career in education, Leanne now combines her love of creating with her love of teaching, encouraging others to explore their own creativity through her relaxed and approachable workshops. Her signature Petals & Prints™ method celebrates colour, pattern and experimentation, showing that you don’t need years of art experience to create something beautiful and uniquely your own.
