Exhibition and book launch.
Curated by Josephine Mead & Zoë Bastin.

Just Breathe is an exhibition presenting a film conceived and directed by artist Mig Dann and shot in the Old Melbourne Gaol in 2021. Just Breathe was filmed by cinematographer Jordan Kaye, with choreography by Zoë Bastin and sound score by Josephine Mead.

Coinciding with the exhibition is the launch of the publication, Mig Dann: The Intimacy of ScrutinyThis survey publication celebrates Dann’s practice and life story. Dann’s work spans sculpture, film and installation. The publication delves into experiences of childhood trauma, feminist practice and queer culture and is a testament to Dann’s lived experience. In the 1970s, Dann worked in the avant-garde art scene and popular music industry within New York’s counterculture. In the 1980s, she moved amongst the editorial circles of Paris. The publication features an essay by Cherry Vanilla.

Exhibition runs: Saturday 11 – Sunday 12 June, 12-6pm
