The work consists of an installation of paintings of Josephine’s bridal-bouquet, a sculpture, accompanied by a sound-score by BJ Morriszonkle and Nero Friktschn Feuerherdt.
Matrimony considers the possibilities of queer love and opens up conversation around different notions of love, ritual and commitment from the local community.
As part of the exhibition, a “conversation circle” will take place on Saturday 1st February, to explore what matrimony and love mean, from different sexual and cultural perspectives! Get ready to engage with the history of the site—once rooted in religion—and consider how queer voices may spark conversations and challenge convention.
“Conversation Circle on Love”: Saturday 1 February, 1pm — An opportunity for the local community to sit down, have a cup of tea and talk about their experiences of love. Everyone is welcome!
