HERE & NOW: LIVE CINEMA SCREENING

Here & Now, under the direction of Michael Beets and S.C. Wilson, presents an innovative live film event made and screened at Abbotsford Convent.

A ‘live cinema’ film crew will collaborate with young people over a five-day period, where they will prepare to create, shoot, edit and project a brand-new film in real time, resulting in a one-off, live-streamed premiere experienced by an on-site audience. VIP guest Montgomery will perform live music as the stream unfurls.

Here & Now collapse the gap between filmmaking and audience, empowering young people to co-create in real time. By combining hands-on workshops that culminate in to the premiere of a live film experience, they explore immediacy, collaboration and the thrill of discovery.

Films are screened live on the night and then vaulted for two years. After this, the film is allowed to be shown once per year. Don’t miss out on this exclusive screening!
