An intimate evening salon exploring death and dying.

Take a seat at the communal table, share a glass of wine, and enter into open, honest conversation about death.
There’s no agenda — just an organic, welcoming space to reflect on mortality, impermanence, and the many facets of living and dying.

This is a free event; all are welcome, but registrations are required.

Death Salon is a public outcome created through the Abbotsford Convent Artist-In-Residence program.

About

Kate Davis is a multi-disciplinary artist working as a director, visual artist, dramaturg, and designer across set, costume, exhibition, and floral practices. She is the Co-Artistic Director of experimental performance company THE RABBLE, which she co-founded and has led for the past two decades. Over the last twenty years, Kate has created work for THE RABBLE and collaborated with leading companies and institutions across Australia.

Her practice defies categorisation, consistently expanding the possibilities of form, scale, and audience experience. In 2022, she was recognised with the Green Room Lifetime Technical Achievement Award for her design work with THE RABBLE.

Alongside her artistic practice, Kate is also a trained florist, Death Walker, and Death literacy advocate, extending her creative and community engagement into spaces of ritual, care, and transformation.
