This month, discover a series of workshops for little ones as the perfect addition to the Regional Farmers Market.
Inspired by the much-loved Smörgåsbord series, the event will offer a selection of two hands-on workshops, led by talented on-site creatives. Be sure to stop by, grab some produce and get a little creative in a sensational celebration of spring.
October workshops —
Kids’ Own artists will guide children and families through the process of turning their imaginations, experiences and ideas into their very own 8-page books, which will be copied and published on the spot!
Children will come up with the title and blurb of their book, will create the text and art, and will learn the magic behind the folding and publishing, allowing them to create even more books at home.
Each 8-page book will be a limited edition celebrating children’s art and creativity in the moment, and will be launched with fanfare.
What are shoes really made of, and what happens to them when we’re done with them?
In this hands-on workshop, kids explore leather scraps and shoe parts, learning about footwear materials and why reusing them matters for the planet.
All materials are provided, but you’re welcome to bring worn-out rubber or foam shoes like Crocs or thongs, which our facilitators will cut up for creative repurposing.
