Since Cello Yoga began at Abbotsford Convent in July 2023, they have welcomed over 1,000 participants into their warm and ever-growing community.
Each 90-minute journey includes a grounding and reflective yoga practice led by Michelle Li to a live performance by Conrad Hamill. Beginning with breathwork, the session leads into a gentle vinyasa-style flow that eases tension and invites deep relaxation into your nervous system. The live music, crafted uniquely for meditation, will serenade you, gradually softening your body and mind until you are fully present in the moment. Every note becomes a guide, syncing with your breath, inviting a profound reconnection to the self.
This is an open level class and there is no yoga experience necessary — you are able to sit or lay for the duration of the class if you choose.
Please bring a journal or paper, and pen.
Please bring your own yoga mat and props – a limited number may be provided.
Come dressed in comfortable clothes for movement.
Australian cellist and composer, Conrad Hamill has been creating music for mindfulness and meditation since 2019 after branching out from his classical work and roots. He now performs his compositions regularly at festivals, in yoga and meditation spaces and at events around the country including delivering a 2020 TedX Sydney presentation on the connection of the mind, music and movement.
