“After two and a half years of COVID-related disappointments and frequent lockdowns, we see this as an opportunity to re-ignite our creativity, making art we love with kindred folks in an amazing setting” – Eureka O’Hanlon and Thea Bates
Art Winter School 2022 is one of many seasonal art schools, run by Thea Bates and Convent artist Eureka O’Hanlon, at Abbotsford Convent over the last seven years.
Set inside the Industrial School, Art Winter School will be spread across two full days. Thea and Eureka will be giving participants the opportunity to learn many visual art techniques across the weekend, including printmaking with and without a press and various intaglio and relief processes. There will also be life-drawing with a nude model and even a tiny bit of life-sculpting!
Thea and Eureka invite you to be curious, be brave and see what’s possible when you embrace your inner creativity.
Most of all they want you to have fun, so enjoy!
Thea Bates is a Melbourne-based visual artist and teacher.
Eureka O’Hanlon is a queer visual artist and activist with a unique combination of art-making and group facilitation skills
The Industrial School is wheelchair accessible, however, the flooring is rough. Gender-neutral and accessible toilets are available close to the venue.
