This Mother’s Day, bring someone worth celebrating. Your mum, your partner, your grandmother, your godmother, your mentor. Spend two hours making something together at Amfora.
You’ll hand build and decorate a vessel or sculpture side by side, with guidance from Amfora teachers throughout.
No experience needed, just good company and a willingness to get your hands dirty.
Amfora Studio will glaze and fire your pieces for you, ready to collect in 4–6 weeks.
Amfora is a new ceramics studio at the Abbotsford Convent, founded by Monica Vecchiotti, a working ceramicist, exhibiting artist, and member of Craft Victoria. Operating in partnership with Melbourne Clay, Amfora offers term courses in wheel throwing and handbuilding for adults, one-off workshops, school holiday sessions for kids, and open studio membership for experienced potters.
