An immersive dance show that plays with lost potential

Modals of Lost Opportunity is a new cross-disciplinary work by InPlay Projects. With movement and choreography at its base, it draws from projection technologies, live cinema, and written prose to investigate the opportunities that slip through our grasp.

Modals of Lost Opportunity uses the principles of Boolean Algebra (the logic system behind binary code) to explore themes of lost potential. Modal verbs, ifs and buts, maybes, shoulds, woulds and coulds will act as the scaffolding, colliding until they become blurred and indistinguishable, reflected through movement, choreography, live cinema and text.

In a Groundhog Day-like spectacle, InPlay will inhabit the spaces between live performance, live recordings, and pre-written prose, with throughlines of choreography and movement all under-pinned by Boolean Logic.
