¡MÁQUINA DE CAJAS!  is a fantastic new large-scale and interactive exhibition for children and their adults

Designed and delivered by Mischa Long y Ross Koger, giant heavy-duty cardboard machines, rollers, pipes, cogs and taps line the Lavandería Magdalen ready for children to connect and deconstruct like giant building blocks. In this way, redundant laundry and machines that haunt the remnants of the original space are re-endowed as giant playthings for children’s huge imaginary re-constructions.

Entrance $5 per head
Children aged 3 and under FREE

Acerca de

Mischa Long

A performer, designer and maker specialising in work for children for almost 30 years. As well as a long running involvement with Polyglot theatre, designing and helping to create iconic shows such as Paper Planet y We Built This City, he has also spent over ten years working as an Art educator in Special Development schools. This love of play-based learning and inventiveness leads to the creation of works that are inclusive, immersive and exciting for all ages. After a background using more traditional materials he has focussed on the use of cardboard for many years, its simplicity, adaptability, re-usability and sculptural properties making it perfect for children’s play spaces. This is his first project with Ross Koger and the possibilities are amazing.

Ross Koger

A cardboard artist renowned for pushing the boundaries of creativity using the medium of cardboard. One of the masterminds behind Boxwars, he transforms the humble cardboard box into spectacles of wonder—from large-scale, epic events of chaotic destruction to kids’ workshops offering endless opportunities to craft. Box Wars always aims to inspire young minds. In the latest endeavour, ¡MÁQUINA DE CAJAS!, in collaboration with experienced cardboard guru Mischa Long, is a natural fit. Kids are invited into a world of inventive play and exploration, through interactive set pieces and even creations they get to take home. Let’s explore the limitless potential of cardboard!

Sarah Aiken
