Sometimes we can only hold a place for people in our hearts.
Set in a regional Australian town, The Placeholder follows a group of women commemorating their late friend Barb, who died of breast cancer. The play centres around a trans man transitioning within the group, addressing themes of womanhood, feminism, and inclusion. It examines the dynamics of gender in tight-knit communities and the challenges faced by trans individuals in finding acceptance.
