Kiki and Zuki brings a unique blend of shadow puppetry and performative storytelling to kids and families. Kiki, a dreamer from the Moon, and Zuki, a curious Earthling, embark on a journey of friendship, understanding, connection and resilience.
Kiki and Zuki was inspired by the artists’ personal migrant experience of navigating two cultures in Australia. As artists, they have always been fascinated by the challenges understanding new cultures while staying true to their own. Shadow puppetry allows them to explore these themes in a visually and emotionally captivating way.
Children will be invited to view a performance by artists Taka Takiguchi und Youbi Lee, before making their own shadow puppet in a hands-on workshop with the artists.
This event is best suited to children aged 6 — 12.
Kiki and Zuki was made possible with the support of the Victorian Government through Creative Victoria and Banyule City Council.
