New gods rise and old gods fall in three new stories set in the world of Cult of the Lamb. Golden Scissors Puppets (Motus in Morte, ANTHROPOCENE) reinvents the hit indie game in puppetry, shadow, light, and sound with their unique twist of the grotesque and macabre – from the beginning of the Lands of the Old Faith to the rise of the Lamb, it’s Cult of the Lamb as you’ve never seen it before.
Premiering at Abbotsford Convent, Cult of the Lamb: Puppet Show will be an evening of visual thrills, eerie sensations, and strange delights.

Golden Scissor Puppets is a queer punk puppet and performance troupe making giant hand-built puppets and chaotic shows that crash somewhere between experimental theatre, live music, and underground parties. Started in 2018 by artist OPAL, the company has built a name for work that’s grotesque, tender, and a bit unhinged. Their apocalyptic trilogy Anthropocene, Hellmouth, and Motus in Morte tore into themes of folklore, decay, and regeneration with towering puppet creatures and wild, participatory performance.
Offstage, Golden Scissor Puppets run workshops and projects with artists with disabilities and run school programs , keeping puppetry DIY, collective, and accessible. It’s about building strange worlds together, sharing skills, and making space for anyone to pick up a puppet and join in.
Massive Monster is an independent game development studio, creating games bursting with creativity and with a core focus on personality and play. They strive to squeeze every last juicy drop of fun and ingenuity out of every one of their monstrous creations.
The event is recommended for ages 13+, but younger audiences are welcome when accompanied by a parent/guardian.
