COVID-19 update: advice for visiting the Convent
23 Mar 2020
COVID-19 Update as at 23 March 2020
The following updates and actions are based on the government's latest coronavirus (COVID-19) directives in an effort to protect your health, and that of our entire community.
A reminder to please practice safe social distancing of 2 metres between yourself and others both inside and outdoors to protect your own health, and that of others, and to make your visit as comfortable as possible for all.
EATERIES AND CAFES
The Convent's onsite eateries and cafes have moved to a takeaway service only. Some menu alterations will occur, including at Cam's, which will do coffees and light snacks for the time being.
GARDENS AND OUTDOOR SPACES
The Convent's gardens and outdoor spaces remain open for now, for all to enjoy. Please be mindful to allow adequate social distancing as per the government’s 2 metre directive.
The WellBeing Wing onsite also remains open, with the practitioners having consulted with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
GALLERIES, INDOOR EVENTS AND VENUE HIRE
In order to comply with the government’s social spacing directive, the Convent has cancelled all indoor events and venue hire until further advised.
STUDIOS, BUSINESSES AND CREATIVES
Taking their own steps to comply with government social spacing directives, many studios onsite are open, at their own discretion. Many have made adjustments to their hours or practices, are open by appointment only or having moved to operating online. Please check in with individual studios, businesses and creatives for updates before you visit.
Many studios and businesses are offering ways you can support them, while also benefitting from their products and services, such as gift vouchers – a great way to support small businesses at a time when they need it most!
All schools in Victoria were directed by the State government to close as of Tuesday 24 March 2020 until further advised. Please contact the Sophia Mundi Steiner School directly if you require further information.
We thank you for your interest in continuing to support and visit the Convent and the many small businesses which operate onsite, as it is safe to do so.
Government health advice is fast-moving, and we thank you for your patience.
