c3 Volunteer Program

The Abbotsford Convent’s c3 Contemporary Art Space adopts a hybrid model, presenting the large-scale outcomes offered by public and institutional galleries, while remaining firmly anchored by its community-based, artist-run philosophy. Established in 2008, the gallery supports open, ambitious, personal and critical approaches towards making and experiencing contemporary art.

Presenting over 50 exhibitions a year, with a focus on delivering boundary-pushing and risk-taking works, the Convent’s c3 Contemporary Art Space is currently looking for volunteers to support its daily operations.

The c3 volunteer program provides fantastic professional development opportunities at one of Australia’s most exciting artist-led contemporary art spaces, including dedicated mentorship sessions covering aspects of curatorial practice, installation, gallery administration and marketing and communications.

Volunteers play a key role in c3’s daily operations, welcoming visitors to the gallery, providing information about exhibitions and supporting c3 programs and events. Working alongside exhibiting artists and c3 staff, volunteers are the face of the gallery, providing an important first point of contact for visitors.

The c3 Contemporary Art Space Volunteer Program is not currently accepting volunteers. Future vacancies will be posted on this page and advertised in our monthly e-news, The Humbug.
