Abbotsford Convent is delighted to welcome  Her Place Women’s Museum Australia to our tenant community. From their new headquarters in the Convent Building, the not-for-profit organisation will continue its vital work in celebrating the stories, achievements and contributions of Australian women.

Her Place shines a light on women who have shaped, and continue to shape, the social, cultural and political fabric of this country. The new tenancy marks a major milestone — giving Her Place a permanent home to grow its exhibitions, public events, and educational initiatives that connect communities and inspire future generations.

The Hon. Mary Delahunty G.A.I.C.D, Chair of Her Place, said “This new space allows us to continue our mission of storytelling and education – creating a ‘go-to’ destination for anyone seeking to learn more about the contributions of Australian women. It’s a space for the future, where we can grow our exhibitions and programs.”

“As a precinct layered with the stories and voices of generations of women and girls, the Convent is a fitting new home for Her Place,’ says Justine Hyde, CEO of Abbotsford Convent. ‘We’re thrilled to welcome them as both tenant and emerging partner in our shared mission to celebrate history, creativity, community and the power of women’s perspectives”.

Her Place will open doors to their new home at the Convent in 2026.
