St Heliers Street Gallery: Cellular to Stellar / It Could Go Either Way
Cellular to Stellar
'Cellular to Stellar' is a solo exhibition by artist Linda Oy Ho which explores the interconnectedness of all life in nature. Inspired by the writings of scientist and environmentalist David Suzuki, Ho’s practice unites concepts from philosophy, spirituality, ecology and nature.
Ho works with stainless steel 'cellular' formations and highly detailed luminous painting techniques. Her unique sculptural artworks are an interplay of form, pattern and nature revealing the underlying correlations from the microcosm to the macrocosm.
It Could Go Either Way
Rebecca Thomas and Natasha Sutila's ‘It Could Go Either Way’ is the meeting of two artistic practices in which pattern, repetition and componentry play a significant part.
Through the creation of jewellery, objects and works on paper, Thomas and Sutila explore the potential of individual components to serve multiple functions and meanings within a unified whole. Sharing a strong interest in decorative and applied art history, the artists aim to use their work to open up discourse surrounding contemporary jewellery and craft to a wider audience.
