September School Holiday Program
The Abbotsford Convent's School Holiday Program is back from Monday 22 September – Friday 3 October. The Convent's tenants will be hosting a plethora of creative workshops to teach your kids new skills and develop others in a fun, safe and artistic environment. Parents can book their kids into a morning or afternoon workshop or both, with the additional option of booking a supervised lunch break.

Available Every Day Except Tuesday 23, Thursday 25 September or Thursday 2 October
Abbotsford Convent is offering a supervised lunch break for busy parents, so kids can participate in workshops all day. Lunch will be provided by the Convent Bakery and include a sandwich, a biscuit, juice box and healthy vegetable snacks.

Shadow Puppets with Annie Edney
Monday 22 September, 10am – 12pm
Make a shadow puppet and perform in a shadow play. The show will be filmed so budding puppeteers can show their friends.

Creative Dance for Under 5s with Mayibuye
Monday 22 or Monday 29 September, 1 – 2pm
Give your littlest ones a taste of ballet, yoga, circus, hip hop and other fun dance activities!

African Drumming with Mohamed Camara
Tuesday 23 September or Wednesday 1 October, 1 – 2pm
Introduce your kids to the colourful and exciting culture of Guinea and West Africa through djembe and dun dun drumming!

Pizza Making at the Convent Bakery

Learn how to make a scrumptious wood fired pizza with the Convent Bakery and then eat it for lunch!

Circus Stars with Magdalena Whirly Bird
Wednesday 24 September, 10am – 12pm
Learn hula hooping, juggling, trick sticks and rhythmic ribbons then show your family all your new skills with a performance!.

Learn 12 amazing hula hoop tricks and games while rocking along to some of your favourite tunes.

Make Your Own Book with Kids' Own Publishing
Thursday 25 September, 1 – 3pm
Take a whistle-stop tour through the publishing process – thinking, writing, illustrating – and make your own book! Famed author, Tony Wilson, who also has a studio at the Convent, will drop by to read the group's books hot off the press.

Learn How to Weave with Wendy Golden
Friday 26 September, 10am – 12pm
Join Wendy and learn how to make your own nest out of vines, leaves and other natural materials using tried and tested weaving techniques.

Be An Art Explorer with Melbourne Art Therapy
Friday 26 September or Thursday 2 October, 1 – 3pm
Melbourne Art Therapy Studio presents a welcoming space for kids to experiment using paint, clay, pencils, pastels, found objects and collage. Participants will be supported to discover new ways of using art and materials to push the boundaries in a safe, non-judgemental environment.

Discover how to give your art extra zip and zing with colour pattern and bold designs. Marjory is a children's book illustrator and will share her tips and tricks for making your drawings stand out from the crowd.

Make a Specimen Cabinet Collage with Pip Lincolne
Friday 3 October, 1 – 3pm
Make a paper craft version of the specimen cabinets you find at the museum. Create a cool 2D work of art and talk about the creatures / artefacts in your collage and in other collections.
