Restore The Rotunda
Our heritage-listed rotunda sits at the heart of the Convent’s stunning gardens. Once a grand feature of this beautiful space, it has been a place to rest, read, congregate and contemplate for more than 100 years.
However, right now the rotunda is dilapidated and unsafe for use – and has been inaccessible to the Convent’s visitors for safety reasons since 2015.
We want to bring this important piece of history back to life in time for spring.
The Abbotsford Convent Foundation (ACF) needs to raise $50,000 by 30 June 2017.
Thanks to the generous support of our funding partner, The Copland Foundation, every contribution will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to a total of $50,000. This means your support will have double the impact in helping us reach our target.
Heritage restoration work is complex, layered and rigorous. It requires expertise from highly-qualified practitioners, using heritage-appropriate materials. The total cost to undertake the significant works to protect and secure the historic rotunda is $100,000.
That’s $50,000 in five weeks, to bring this project to life.
With your support, the rotunda will once again become a space for the entire community to enjoy. It will become a place to experience arts and cultural programs and events, and will provide much needed shelter, so that everyone can enjoy our gardens all year round.
Please consider making a tax-deductible gift today to provide a new life for this important piece of history.
