Sacred Heart Studio Expressions of Interest now sought
The Abbotsford Convent's newly-restored Sacred Heart building is now open, offering a unique opportunity to join the Convent’s growing onsite community of more than 150 arts and cultural organisations, practitioners, creatives and makers.
A stunning building boasting an evocative industrial-style interior, the Sacred Heart building offers fit-for-use studios, showrooms, offices and retail spaces, which can be fitted-out to your requirements, respective of the Convent’s heritage overlays.
There are currently three studios available for lease:
- 27 square metre studio – on the ground floor
- 183 square metre studio – on level 1, comprising of two medium sized area of 78 square meters and 75 square meters, and two small adjacent rooms of 17 square metres and 13 square metres respectively
- 107 square metre studio – on level 2
Now is the perfect time to create your studio or office space in Sacred Heart, joining fellow new tenants who bring a diverse range of businesses and practices to the Convent, including screen-printed fabrics, clothing, theatre, ceramics, a digital media start-up, and children’s programs, toys and education.

In addition to office and studio spaces, Sacred Heart offers four unique and diverse spaces for venue hire – including the stunning new Packing Room (with wet room capabilities for arts workshops) and Sheet Room – making meetings, seminars, rehearsals, performances and workshops easy. The EOI process and the selection assessment will be undertaken by the Abbotsford Convent Foundation (ACF), which manages the Convent.
The evaulation period will be completed by Wednesday 16 May 2018, with negotioations commencing thereafter.
