Simon Taylor

    Head Gardener

    Back to Our People

Simon is a walking encyclopaedia of all things flora and fauna. He’s inspired by landscape architects Roberto Burle Marx and Isamu Noguchi, and is fascinated with traditional medicinal gardens (he’s been reading Maud Grieve’s seminal 1931 book, ‘A Modern Herbal’ for the past 30 years!). As well as a holding a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, Simon has a Master of Visual Arts and enjoys utilising the natural pigment from the land to create work. Passionate about sustainability, Simon can often be spotted sprinkling used coffee grounds from the on-site cafes to feed the worms – and simultaneously making the site smell delicious! Quite the adventurer, it comes as no surprise that Simon likes to spend his holidays heli-skiing.
