Katie Paine

    c3 Gallery Manager

    Back to Our People

As an artist, writer and curator who works with installation, video, collage, painting, drawing and text, Katie Paine is perfect for the role of Gallery Manager at the Convent’s c3 Contemporary Art Space; one of Australia’s most significant Artist-Run Initiatives.

With a Bachelor of Fine Art, Katie is currently completing her Masters in Art Curatorship at Melbourne University, combining research and studio practices to explore the slippery relationship between practicing art and curating. A Writer in Residence with Next Wave Festival in 2016 , Katie also works as an arts writer and currently runs a critical arts writing program for RMIT students with RMIT Link Arts and Culture. Katie has a particular interest in discursive and ephemeral programs and is passionate about running accessible and engaging public programs alongside exhibitions.

Other than c3, Katie’s favourite spots at the Convent are the Tempietto and the Gardens – perfect for reading, which is one of Katie’s favourite pastimes. Outside of work, study and teaching, Katie enjoys escaping to the stunning seaside town of Sorrento, Victoria (though Katie notes that Italy is but a dream away …).
