Interns may work closely with the Communications team to assist with the daily operations and functions of a dynamic and central department. Duties may include compiling the monthly e-newsletter, writing and developing blog content, updating web content, re-sizing images, and performing general administration tasks such as data entry and research.
What past interns had to say
"I feel so privileged to have gained experience from what I think is one of the best arts and culture (and learning) organisations in Australia. Working with the team was very rewarding as they allowed me to expand my skills and encouraged, helped and mentored me in a project that I have never tried before. Not only was I learning from the experience, but I was also making an impact for the Convent. I believe that's key to a successful and rewarding internship." – Carol Wilkinson, Communications Intern (2014)
"My internship at the Abbotsford Convent was a great experience. The entire team was very friendly and helpful and made me feel welcome from start to finish. As an intern, I had the great support of Pam, the Volunteer Coordinator, who really cares about the wellbeing of the volunteers and help us make the most of our internship. The Convent offers an incredible work environment. I feel lucky to have been there and to have met so many interesting people there. I will never forget it. I would advise it to anybody interested in art and culture." – Vincent Georges, Graphic Design Intern (2014)
"Interning at the Convent allowed me to develop my writing, editing and copywriting skills. Participating in the completion of the Convent's re-branding project has helped me find employment writing copy for websites, as well as in the copywriting field. Spending time with the wonderful staff, indomitable CEO and on the beautiful grounds of the Convent makes interning an absolute pleasure." – Megg Minos, Communications Intern (2013)
